AIBU?

to ring the dyno-rod man to find out when he is coming back to finish unblocking my drain?

He got called out to a nearby plumbing emergency while in the draining-pipes-and-thinking-how-to-best-to-tackle-stage at mine. Which is fine- dealing with an emergency obviously takes priority, and he's left everything sealed up here.

Would it be unreasonable of me to ring him to try to estimate when he'll be back to finish the job here? He's been gone 2 hours now and I'm supposed to be taking DD out at 1, which is why I booked an early appointment. I'm aware that he may be up to his knees in water and worse though, so don't want to be a PITA- but I do need my drain unblocking today, and if he can't do it then they need to send somebody else.

Of course yanbu. I have had several dealings with dynarod (thankfully now over). Aren't they owned by BritishGas/Centica? Ring them. Drains are an emergency. Don't even think about not complaining/consulting. I have found them very good. Hope they apologise. Maybe they are better in my area but I would imagine they would be full of apologies.

They are owned by British Gas, which confused me no end when I rang the call centre and answered to that effect!

He is back now- fingers crossed for a speedily unblocked drain! He is a nice man so don't want to complain really, especially if we start to drain freely again :)
