Sodding zombie sodding threads!

AIBU to think that unless you are:

a) the OP coming back with a fantabulous update; or

b) very funny

there should be some kind of punishment for resurrecting partially decomposed stinky old threads.

Honestly, it makes me irrationally angry. It's like seeing my mum reading last Tuesday's newspaper. Gah Angry

Can you offer me immunity from thread-about-a-thread prosecution?

Agree Okonomiyaki there's loads at the moment.

You may, however need the mumsnet witness protection programme if you are willing to testify.

Ok, so there's one about the horrors of Queen Karmel's weaning advice lumbering around on bf/ff'ing.

One on AIBU wittering on about gender disappointment and trying to bite the heads of unsuspecting bypassers.

One on behaviour/development which has lured many to their doom by pretending to be a reasonable discussion on the age a child should learn to use a kettle.

These just in the past few days. And I have been lured in by all of them!

If it makes you feel any better I had very stern words indeed with my dp who decided to resurrect an old thread by posting a hi-larrious message using my log in, I was pretty mortified and haven't posted since he did that.

Git.

MPFB Shock. What did he say?

I hope you had Very Stern Words with him.

Some old threads seems to be resurrected by unscrupulous businesses who trawl the archives for queries about their product area and bump them by recommending themselves. MNHQ are wise to it PDQ but it drives me nuts

It was on the garlic up the bum to get rid of worms thread on classics. Can't remember what exactly what he said, I think I've blanked it!

Now my dp can be a very funny person but he can also be like Joey in the Friends episode where he keeps sniggering because Ross says "Homo Erectus" in a talk he's giving. When dp makes a comment like that in rl I can just roll my eyes and move swiftly on, but using my log in was a bit embarrassing.

They were Very Stern Words indeed (and in no way was I over-reacting, nope, not at all Blush)

Poor you. If it helps my dh is in his mid-30s and still thinks Cockfosters is an hilarious name for a tube station.

Once saw a miscarriage thread from 2 years ago resurrected[sad}

Then there was the 7 year old weaning thread - where the person who resurrected it gave the op a lecture on weaning even though the child was in junior school by nowGrin

Thank you, it does help to know that up and down the country there are women just like me rolling their eyes and saying "Anyway..." in a loud voice as the grown man next to them sniggers like a twit at the word boobies or some such.

Although it's partly my fault, in a moment of extreme boredom I looked up one of the words you're warned not to on here, and then for god-alone-knows-why reason I told him, he now finds it amusing to drop it in to the conversation.

Clearly I'm enabling his behaviour Sad

Loved the dentist one from the link above though. Worth reading this zombie thread for that one.

Remember the one who replied to her own thread about the pram she was interested in.... Then bought! And reviewed it, for herself. In the past. Argh
