AIBU?

to think that people who let their dogs shit on pavements should be placed in stocks

After having to hop, skip and jump the dog shit on my way to the local shops this morning (while pushing a pushchair) I don't think a fine is enough of a deterrent. Might placing the owners who don't clean up after their dogs in stocks and allowing the rest of us to throw rotten tomatoes (or dog shit) at them be more effective?

they should be tracked down and have their noses rubbed in it.

Yep far more effective!

But we'd still have the same problem...no street wardens, CPOs or any other official to catch them at it.

Dog DNA database needed - your dog's shit found on street = your dog taken away and you fined £500.

I really hate dogshit. I drive short distances because I am not prepared for me, my 4yo and my 2yo to step in the hundreds of piles around here.

Completely agree.

People used to unclip them to let them use my lawn as a loo then clip the lead back on before I got my fence.

Boy did the woman with the collie look pissed off Wink

The pavements are absolutely dreadful here...especially on the school run. I wouldn't drive because of it though...just have to teach the kids to be extra careful.

Lol at your nickname on this thread orangepoo Blush

YANBU - was held up 10 minutes on the school run on Thursday due to ds aged 3 tramping in a bloody dog shit and having to take his boot off, get the baby wipes out and clean the disgusting mess up. Ds1 was late for school, ds2 late for nursery, and I was late for an appointment.

I think people who don't pick up after their dogs should have all the local parents treck through their hallway with shoes and buggies covered in dog shit, and see how they like it on their carpets.

YANBU, the casual carelessness of others makes me so cross. You have my support. Bring back the dog licence incorporating the DNA record, paid for by the owner. Excellent thought orangepoo

I wanted to vote Monster Raving Looney at the last election as one of their policies was that any dog owner that had been caught not picking up their dog's shit would be forced to pick up 2 carrier bags worth of every other lazy fuckers as a punishment!!

Rather inspired I thought.

YANBU. I like the idea of a DNA database. And I agree with Bumblequeen, spitting is just as bad.

Stocks?

No? Come on, I really think you need to take this seriously.

First offence: The local nurseies, play groups and preschools get their toddlers nd mums to tramp dog excrement through the offenders house.

Second offence: A sniper armed with real bullet takes them out.

Obviously mistakes will be made as the sniper might not realise that it's only your first offence but hey!, shit happens.

CAn you tell that I've had my fair share of dodging dog poo? It really p's me off!

YANBU.

I've started taking the car to pick the DC's up from nursery instead of walking as I'm sick to death of going through dog poo in the dark.

Same goes for spitting. I will be yelling at the college kids soon, just as long as I don't have the DC's with me as I might swear.

Rub their noses in it? They should be made to eat it. The owners that is.

I'm afraid YABU.

They should be taken out by snipers.

This bloody pisses me off no end,we have to go through a small path to get to school & it leads into the street right by the infant school, the person selfish lazy twat who lives in the end house lets his collie roam free every morning & every morning this dog shits a turd right in the middle of this path.

My neighbour who has 5 dogs himself & always picks up after them has taken to picking it up & throwing it on their lawn.

I mean come on who lets their dog shit right next to a school?

Its bloody disgusting.

I read it as should be placed on socks which I actually think would be fab because when they stand in the poo........

I have been known to chase people down the street waving nappy sacks and yelling at them that they've forgotten to clean up after their dogs. Especially when they poo on the no dog fowling sign sprayed on the pavement.

They should be made to eat the mess they leave.

t'other day my two year old stepped in a pile, i had to do the whole baby wipe thing, within 100 yards had stepped in another.

i had to go and buy him a cheapy pair of slippers to wear for the rest of the day.

then scrub his sheepskin boots later.
fucking nuisance.

spitting too.
its virtually part of football.

The only suitable penalty for letting your dog foul anywhere other than your own back garden is death.

We live on a very lovely old railway line, now a cycle path and frequently walk the mile ot the shops in one direction or go off on adventures/blackberry picking in season in the other direction. I took to keeping baby wipes plus alcohol gel in my bag for the blackberry picking. Yesterday ds fell over on the way to the shops an dended up with dog shit all over his coat. Not impressed.

We live in a small village and as one of the 'better future' plans was to have less dog shit, the parish council put up free dog poo bags in various places.

As a result, in the worst areas the amount of poo dropped by 70%.

I mean, who a) doesn't realise that they might perhaps need a bag when taking their dog for a walk and b) is too cheap to get their own?!!
