To think that women should play men at darts?

Trina Gulliver could stuff a lot of the male dart players so why do 'women' have a separate competition?

you can't possibly have women playing men, they might end up being taken seriously and that would never do
I'm with you OP, there's no reason for keeping darts or snooker segregated beyond old fashioned sexism.

To get better at darts you need competition. Ladies darts has taken a while to get noticed and, consequently, the standard was lower. As the competition increses so does the ability to compete with men. I used to play...men hate losing to a woman IME!!

Dobromyslova is ranked 128th in the PDC

Trina Gulliver is ranked 2nd in BDO womens

If she was good enough she would cross over to the PDC and play against the big boys of darts. She clearly prefers to be a big fish in a little pond rather than a little fish in the big pond

To gain experience she needs more fishes of any standard to play!! This is why women are not as good at the moment. I can hit 180 more than most in local players. This means nothing when compared to real competition, unless she is challenged in a competetive arena she will still lack the experience that brings the wins!

it is £6,000 for winning the women's world title
pretty good reasons for not moving

and Lewis won £100k for the PDC plus £10k for the nine darter. Phil talylor won just under a millon last year. The big money is in the PDC but to win it you have got to leave the comfort of the womens BDO and play mixed darts in the PDC.
