To find DH kissing his family members on the lips strange?

Ok before I get flamed, I know it is not meant in a strange way and my DH finds the fact that I don't kiss my parents on the lips or hug them just as if not more strange...I am genuinly interested in the differences and what is considered 'normal'

Id think it strange too! Lip kissing is for partners.

I only kiss my husband on the lips...anyone else gets a hug and a kiss on the cheek - each to their own really.

My SIL in law does. It grosses me out and she always covers me in sticky gloss ugh. We do cheek kiss, brief hug and I'm scottish too but then, so is she

I do kiss my MIL on the lips because she and DH greet each other that way, I am always very concious of it though, it doesn't come naturally!

Well, try to imagine gordon Brown kissing his parents... Actually my brother is a bit of a squelchy kisser, I have to grin and bear it (he is single, I wonder if i should tell him he needs pratice).

I kiss my DC'S on the lips, I don't think my parents ever kissed me on the lips though

I find it unusual.. kissing on the lips is an intimate thing just for your partner IMO.

Husband has a mate who always zooms in for a kiss on the lips when we meet, and usually gets my ear as I swiftly turn my head.

yes i personally would find it odd and uncomfortable, but i know my mum and sister kiss on lips, sometimes i'll see my mum heading that way at me and i'll swing my head to the side!

I'm with you on this OP - Dh kisses his folks on the lips - but find it even more strange when FIL tries to kiss me on the lips

My Dad has always kissed me on the lips in greeting/ saying bye. I don't really like it because he is a heavy smoker and a coffee drinker, but I know he would be offended if I objected. Everyone else gets a kiss on the cheek, or more usually just a "hello" (with PILS). DH doesn't hug or kiss his parents at all, and in fact he is not a very tactile person with me, although we do hug in bed and hold hands when we're out.
