Fireworks why its 8.00pm not midnight yet

I thought the idea was to celebrate the new year not have them going all night.

I think a lot of people with young kids especially let them off early if they won't be staying up.

we had a few left over from Bonfire night so did them about 7.30pm, before the small people got sent off to bed. There were quite a few fireworks going off then in our neighbourhood. I don't really have a problem with it, fireworks are really for children anyway and I'm happy to do them early then pack the children off to bed. Smile

maybe they're doing what my dad and I did one year (1999 NYE actually) - we had a wee drink for every single country that saw in the New Year before us - and finished about 2 hours after we'd seen it in Xmas Grin

I can understand for the children.

Got my grumpy head on as they woke my youngest DS up and I was just about to relax for the evening.

They're driving me mad here! Dd is only 15 months and is terrified of the noise. Dh and I have been pacing the floor with her since 7pm
