I agree, it was absolutely amazing! I could watch it over and over.

Lizzylou Thu 30-Dec-10 14:21:02

It was fab, wasn't it?

classydiva Thu 30-Dec-10 14:23:42

Was superb!

TheFarSide Thu 30-Dec-10 14:23:57

Yeah but what/who was filming blizzard cam, snowball cam, and all the other weird cams?

Was there an overarching cam?

SarahStrattonsBaubles Thu 30-Dec-10 14:26:03

I missed it but the Fail has some lovely pictures of one being beaten up by a seagull!

ChippingIn Thu 30-Dec-10 14:29:00

It was amazing - I alternated between Ahhhhh and NO nononononononononon!!

PuppyMonkey Thu 30-Dec-10 14:29:34

Dead good.

Lizzylou Thu 30-Dec-10 14:32:17

Me too, Chippingin. Was peeking through fingertips at times blush

Those males trying to bump off the cubs. Do you think that that will phase out as Polar bears are so threatened?

ifancyashandy Thu 30-Dec-10 14:36:55

Footage was amazing. anthropomorphizing was not.

Numberfour Thu 30-Dec-10 14:39:10

Ifancyashandy, I had to look up "anthropomorphizing" but now that I know what it is, I agree! It was a bit irritating.

sockapoodle Thu 30-Dec-10 14:40:06

Was the only thing my family have happily sat down together to watch and all loved. Was amazing! I'm in awe of the mother bears.

cornsilkcornedbeefhash Thu 30-Dec-10 14:40:39

what happened to the 2nd cub - there were 2 - I went upstairs with ds- came down and there was only one

ifancyashandy Thu 30-Dec-10 14:41:31

Drives me mad! The amazing camera work / animals / scenery speak for themselves - I don't need the film makers to give the polar bears a personality!

I blame the meercats! And Disney!

nickelbabyjesus Thu 30-Dec-10 14:41:49

this one?

aww.
grin

seriously, though - polar bears are cute, but rather fierce.

I missed the programme.

Furball Thu 30-Dec-10 14:41:59

there were 2 polar bear mums - one had 1 cub and one had 2 cubs smile

nickelbabyjesus Thu 30-Dec-10 14:42:25

i messed up the link

confused

cornsilkcornedbeefhash Thu 30-Dec-10 14:43:34

ah thanks! was a bit worried!

hairyfairylights Thu 30-Dec-10 14:56:00

It was fab we really enjoyed it.

mogwhistle Thu 30-Dec-10 15:46:57

Best tv prog I've seen all Christmas smile

MerrilyDefective Thu 30-Dec-10 16:18:17

Stealthy critters though

ChippingIn Thu 30-Dec-10 17:09:01

Yes, the way the one went around the back then under the ice to get that seal was amazing, the seal only just escaped (thank god it did though!).

I found parts of it really hard to watch, I didn't want the PB's & their babies to starve, but I didn't want them to kill the seals either

I'm too soft for wildlife programmes!!

redfairy Thu 30-Dec-10 17:15:27

I really enjoyed the programme - well I did up until the bit where DH invited me to display my wares in the style of the female bear who was in seductress mode for her beau. I fear bending at the waist and displaying my rump and bits may not be so attractive!

ChippingIn Thu 30-Dec-10 17:36:36

I know - she was a right little strumpet wasn't she!! grin We were killing ourselves laughing at her 'come hither'...

ChippingIn Thu 30-Dec-10 17:37:07

Still - it's nice to know the female PB's are 'up for a bit' and not just 'taken' by the males!
