Malwarebytes: Anti Malware - Free version.

If you bank online, then your bank will often provide a free version of Anti-Virus.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

I've found it will remove nasties that other (normally extremely good) Anti-virus programmes leave behind.

Thanks guys, act came up with 600+ errors and was willingto do 100 for free. Have just downloaded spybot. There was another that wouldn't go through cause of an old mcafee still being around and cause I'm in safe start up i can't get rid of it.

Don't ever pay for someone to remotely access your pc. They could be trustworthy, but could more easily not be

I've always found housecall very good. A lot of the 'free' services will tell you they've found thousands of problems yet the very one that needs fixing always costs money. I've never paid for housecall as it's a one-off scan and fix rather than security monitor.

Avira is a good free antivirus.

Malwarebytes is an excellent free malware scanner and will take you through the removal steps without charge, I use it regularly.
