So we went to Harrods yesterday to see Father Christmas, he was fantastic and we were ushered straight in, no queueing at all.

And it was like that all over the shop - no queues and 50% discounts on loads of great stuff. DD was treated to a giant fluffy reindeer (at least 40 cms tall) by DH and it cost £7.95 (original price £17.95).

I got a White Company Christmas stocking (for me Xmas Grin) for £11, their 50% sale had already started.

Every department had no queues, smiley staff and huge discounts. The toy department had loads of really good gifts in the sale.

And the food hall, it was all 3 for 2 on chocs and sweets.

I was so surprised at every department having really nice stuff on big discounts - and the toys that were full price were no dearer than Tesco/Argos and at least they had them in stock!

The best bit was obviously the no queueing for anything, I'm going to wait it out next year and blardy go on the 23rd instead of planning months in advance.

I agree I rolled out of bed at 9.30am this morning instead of my usual 5am to que at M&S and bought everything I needed.
The shelves were heaving with food nobody seems to want or can afford, I bet this afternoon there will be some serious bargains to be had if you've got the time to go out.

I try and go every year. For the macaroons if nothing else. The staff are SO good and there are so many of them. And there is loads to look at. It was pretty busy when I went at 6pm on Weds though, but no queuing. They have a stuff from a massive price range for everything so not neccesarily a bank breaker. But I bought a job lot of macaroons...

I also bought half a dozen laduree macaroons just for me - dh and dd sniffed at them so I didn't offer them one. They had a Lindt bar instead.
