How do you feel about rich men bursting into tears

I dont really get the vitriol against David Beckham. He looked genuinely touched last night and judging by the length of his standing ovation, that others agreed with his award. I thought it was lovely that his boys were there to share it although felt sorry that they had to sit through 2 hours of what to them must have been fairly tedious, but still, their dad is an icon to many and I;m sure they are very proud of him.

Perhaps when you receive a lifetimes achievement award you may feel slightly humbled too.

I dont hate Becks...I find he strikes an uninteresting pose.
Not excting on the pitch like Best, Ronaldo, Mary Donna or some others.

Just good at routine things through hours of practice.

I do feel sorry for Posh because she looks haunted in front of the camera.

I agree about the tedium the boys went through. Was picturing my two DSs at an event like that. Not a pretty picture

Also - regarding the boys. Up til fairly recently, they've had their faces smudged out in celebrity mags (which I never buy, oh no). Wonder what made them decide to de smudge - or is it only on TV they let them be seen?

Does the same logic mean that someone who remembered how to spell their name in order to sign on is entitled to blub but another on fulfilling a lifetimes ambition to reach the top of their profession should just get on with things?

I actually quite like pigeons. Although I struggle with the stumpy-footed ones, I find them a pleasant addition to city parks.

There was a lovely pigeon at the building in which I used to work. He only had one foot. But oddly which foot he had kept changing. It couldn't have been different pigeons. He was the only one called Ralph.

I do get what you are saying. Society does put too much store on wealth and celebrity. Footballers earn far too much. That's pretty uncontroversial, I think.

However Beckham is entitled to feel pride at his talent and achievements, and to express that. I think it is genuinely-felt emotion

But the hair though!!!
