until he can rinse the bloody bacteria ridden gargle effluvient out of the sink when he's finished.

It's gross.

YANBU.

But then should I ban my DD and DH from cleaning their teeth until they learn to swill the sink and rinse their toothbrushes properly? That's gross too.

I dont mind him using mouthwash, any mouthwash but this stuff stains the bacteria in your mouth so you can see whats coming out.

He just leaves it there so that when I come to use/clean the sink I have to rinse it out-how is it unreasonable for me to ask that much of him?

well, YABU if he doesn't already do half the cleaning, actually.

YANBU. How long does it take to turn the tap on to rinse it. Its hardly hard wrok cleaning if it is rinsed straight away.

It's gross. Leave a used tampon in the sink next time he does it. Then just shrug nonchalantly when he squeals about it.

YANBU! It's manky, manky stuff! It doesn't rinse easily, it forms a horrible greasy layer in the sink that needs scrubbing off each time.

Also, I don't believe all those grotty bits are bacteria - anybody with that amount of bacterial buildup in their mouth would need some serious antibiotics. I reckon it just reacts with saliva and sort of curdles.

It's banned in our house too Xmas Grin

agree with plenty that what you see is not bacteria, all a con to make you keep buying and using it.

My dentist said the latest info from the dental world, is that mouthwashes are not good, neither is the mega rinsing after cleaning.

He says just spit and go, because the toothpaste remaining protects against plawue and decay etc.

throw it away every time he buys it,does he throw his toothbrush and paste into the bath like my dd inexplicably does or leav pluckings from eyebrows also in the sink, love the tampon idea too haha

Who the hell dragged these men up? why are they so revolting?! When my daughter started to brush her own teeth she left the spit in the sink and I told her it was filthy and she must clean it herself whcih she did... how has that not happened to these men at any stage of their life?
And what the hell do they think of you that they think they will leave their SPIT and BACTERIA in the sink and you will clean it up.

Grounds for divorce. And grounds for vomiting in the shower before they get in.

Thank you all, it's nice to vindicated, Despite the one response I fail to understand, I feel I have the majority vote!

I dont use tampons but I may just leave my mooncup contents for him next time.

My OH manages to rinse the sink but there are ALWAYS a few tiny spots of welded-on purple detritus (that can only be removed with cream cleaner and a scouring pad, however quickly I attend to them - a bathroom wipe will never do the job) from this blumming stuff. I would throw it out with him close behind if he left the whole lot!

YADNBU

Hmmm.....

husband just with bad habits VS husband with bad habits AND bad teeth

Tough one tho.
