AIBU?

to wonder about Cher's education

Why did Cher go back to her primary school?
Wouldn't her secondary let her into the building?

If that reception class even knew who she was and were allowed to stay up to watch Factor X, then they will now be traumatised by the Aguilira burlesque display.

If you believe the press she was a right bully at her secondary school so maybe wasn't welcome! I wondered the same thing.

Not sorry to see the back of her. Just sorting out Christmas pressies tonight and I was thinking me and Cher have something in common, neither of us can wrap.

well I should imagine the secondary school don't want to associated with xfactor.
Jordan went to ds's school, can't imagine they would want to advertise that

I'm so glad she's gone, I couldn't help shouting at the tv every time she came on!

She will have the last larf. She is the most interesting character to emerge from the X-Factory this year.

The Singing Plasterer will win and do one album which is so dull it makes James Blunt look like The Prodigy, and this time next year we will have forgotten his name.

I reckon she should team up with Jezzer Kyle for a new squark show. Grin

I met with a senior teacher from her secondary school recently and although she was pretty professional under some quite fanatical questioning from one of my colleagues, when pressed about her being a bully and not-very-nice, she just did Hmm and nodded.

There's a lot in the press about her family being mahoooosive and very thuggish, and intimidating those who speak out about Cher's less than salubrious upbringing. It's not to do with being poor, imho, it's being about not being particularly nice...

But like UQD said, she'll do well because the public love to hate her, there'll always be something to write about her and she will appeal to a certain section of the yoof market who like N-Dubz and all that kind of shite.

Just heard on 5live that she's from a traveller family and may have been to many different secondary school so easier to do a primary.

Don't watch X Factor so don't know any of the background but they insist on talking about it on the radio.

yeah I heard she was a traveller too, and that she moved around a bit.

I liked Cher, I agree with UQ. I think she and probably Rebecca will be the only ones to come out with any sort of career from xfactor. I liked the fact she did something different and didn't just stand there doing the XFactor Warble like most of the others.

No idea what she was like at school. Shes not there now though so it's not really relevant.

Riven - it was DP. Haven't heard that there were lots of schools. AFAIK twas the same one all through as she went to the same dance class as my neighbour's daughter for years

Yes she's not at school now but she was 1 year ago - not a very long time. And I'm guessing everyone does a bit of 'speak as you find' and if their views were unfavourable, they're going to say that. There's also been a 'she's abitch' bandwagon by quite a few nobdies who once stodd 5 kids behind her in the dunner queue but that's not surprising.

But I'm hoping this will give her the opportunity to change the way she's behaved in the past. There;s no need for it now; she's provied she's a fighter (metaphorically Grin). Her influences weren't brilliant growing up.

Hey, if being on TV can wean her off the orange foundation, it might help in other ways...

Riven -I believe she went to both the schools (DP and TC). There were problems at both hence the moving schools.

Riven -when were you in Malvern? Are you wondering if your children were at school with her then?

I believe Cher started off at TC and then moved to DP after she was suspended due to a fight in the playground. She was at DP for at least the last 3 years of her education I think.

I reallu don't like her and what she stands for. A lot of negative press has been circulating about her since Boot Camp where she claimed to have written her own lyrics for the introduction of her song but they were from another rapper's single. I don't think a seventeen year old girl should be receiving such negative press but in a way she asked for it by appearing on the show and allegedly acting the way she has.

She can't sing but many people will like her or love to hate her. If one of my DD's grew up aspiring to be her, I wouldn't be happy about it. I'd much rather them aspire to be Lady GaGa despite the fact she used to be a lapdancer! At least she's talented, writes her own songs, orchestrates her tours on as aesthetic level etc. It's some achievement.

I agree that she'll get a career off the back of it but she'll only be allowed that career if the public buy her music, buy her tour tickets and write about her which they will.

On one hand I feel very sorry for her. On the other I really dislike her and am glad to see the back of her.

I also don't get why when it's reported that she's a brat and throws tantrums the papers will revert to calling her just a seventeen year old girl and how she's fragile and unable to cope with fame at that age, blah blah blah. That may be true but Wand Erection are all 16/17 and manage to hold it together, work hard and provide performances, even if I suspect they mime a little too much and tgat Zain (??) should just leave now!

From what I heard, she was a traveller when she was young ie. a baby. She moved to Malvern when she was four and stayed there :/.

I don't like Cher's sneer. One day she'll look back at her performances and cringe.

Fucking hell she's seventeen, I can't say I wouldn't cringe if I saw my over confident seventeen year old self now. I'm not sure she'll have a great career, but I thought she was entertaining if nothing else. Her voice was in tune but I liked it as much as I liked Pixie-not-a-Lott and her rapping was okay.

I feel sorry for her.

She makes my skin crawl. I just really can't take to her AT ALL. I think its the sneering, bullying reputation, pre-madonna tantrums, thinking-she's-better-then-she-is, just don't like her.
