YANBU - they are VERY creepy!

MrsChemistrySetInMyStocking Sat 11-Dec-10 19:29:03

YANBU, it's weird.
Bring back the real frolicking puppies! <waves placard>

Dylthan Sat 11-Dec-10 19:32:43

YANBU. Does anyone remember the advert of the andrex puppy and the duck that used to come out at Christmas? Now that advert was great would make me feel proper christmassy. smile

weird computer puppies aren't really doing it for me this year.

OMG yes I just saw it - really freaky! I thought it was an ad for a new Nintendogs type thing! Horrible.

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 19:34:46

phew! thought I might be the only one!

Maisiethemorningsidecat Sat 11-Dec-10 19:37:01

YANBU at all. It must be a sign of getting older, because I really get quite cross when they tinker with things that work perfectly well.

Bring back the puppy!

Mummynumber2 Sat 11-Dec-10 19:39:30

I've just seen it and thought they were quite cute actually, obviously I'm alone in thinking that! smile

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 19:40:31

Interesting! I think it shows that they have got their target market a bit wrong, after all, it's us that remembers to buy loo roll! Unless they think there is untapped "pester power" in the under 12s for bog paper hmm

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 19:41:28

aw, mummy, well that's fine too, just liked found them a bit, ah, stringy and strange...

MrsChemistrySetInMyStocking Sat 11-Dec-10 19:45:24

Maybe sales of air freshener did actually go up after the "poo at Paul's" advert and they think kids are a secret market for bathroom accoutrements.

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 19:49:52

oh dear God, please no, not the poo at Paul's...that scraped barrels previously thought to be buried under several layers of secret toxic waste....

Maisiethemorningsidecat Sat 11-Dec-10 20:07:26

I quite liked the poo at Paul advert - seeing a child using the air freshener on a voluntary basis gave me hope

Mummynumber2 Sat 11-Dec-10 20:17:05

Lol Madame I still won't be buying Andrex though grin.

I'm completely with everyone on the 'poo at pauls' ad though! About as bad as it can possibly get imo.

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 20:29:47

maisie! I don't know what to say! DS and I have a mantra we chant every time an air freshner advert comes on which is "open the window!"

Maisiethemorningsidecat Sat 11-Dec-10 20:55:54

Ahh, but there are 2 issues with that here in our house - 1. the key to the window in one of our loos is missing, so spraying is essential, and 2. an open window take a while to clear the eau de poo. A short blast of the air freshener (and a squirt of bleach if it's particularly noxious) prior to an open window please! grin

ChippingIn Sat 11-Dec-10 20:59:42

I haven't see it, but will look out for it!

I don't use 'house' air freshners as I agree - open the blardy windows! But need a bathroom one as it doesn't have a window and is in the middle of the house so we can't put one in.

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 21:05:48

Ah, well, in cases of bathrooms without window, I am wholly amenable to air freshners.....

otherwise, tis a case of of "out damn pong"!

<with much hand waving towards windows>>

<<wonders how much money ds will spend on therapy as an adult...decides if its not air freshner it'll be summat else>>

<<wilts at being parent..will I ever get it right?>>

Maisiethemorningsidecat Sat 11-Dec-10 21:08:53

Nope, you will never get it right. Ever. If you just accept that fact now, you will save yourself years of heartache!

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 21:23:14

Masie,oh wise woman, I fear you are right!

<<sends ds to cellar for several years and cracks open some white wine>>

Maisiethemorningsidecat Sat 11-Dec-10 22:08:09

May I join you please? grin

<holds out glass>

DooinMeCleanin Sat 11-Dec-10 22:11:14

'Unless they think there is untapped "pester power" in the under 12s for bog paper' - You mean your children don't pester you for loo roll and cleaning produce and it's just mine that does that? angry

dd1 wanted to buy my mum some 'Cillit Bang and the dirt is gone' for x-mas last year. She was adamant that her Nana would like that better than chocolate grin

nightmarebeforechristmas Sat 11-Dec-10 22:13:28

it is odd
wtf is a dog doing wearing a watch

MadameDefarge Sat 11-Dec-10 22:33:54

<<tops up Maisie's glass>>

I am aware pof the lure of Cilit bang for yong 'uns..but bog paper? surely this is a step to far!

<<ponders demanding MN campaign, gives up, slurps more wine>>

Just want to point out that sat night is my only alcohol night, and barely manage half bottle, but, by god, I really really enjoy each sip!
