Tonight is the end of term school disco and as I have woman flu I arranged lifts for DD to get her there abd home again. The disco ended at 9.30pm and at 9.43pm DD rang me to say that the parents thought the disco ended at 10pm!! We live 30mins drive from school.

I am furious and feel like just shutting the door in their faces once DD is home (and safely in the house). She is 11ys. AIBU??

Yes yabu - they've made a mistake that's all. Your dd is safe and will be home soon. Say thank you and wave away the apology I expect they will offer then save your energy.

Blimey. They just got the time wrong, and they are doing you a huge favour. Cut them some slack.

Yabu and ungrateful

perhaps ensure the lifts you so carefully arranged knew the correct times.

Is she safe whilst she's waiting?

If so then no harm, it's a late night but no school tomorrow so she can lie in.

You would be rude and ungrateful to shut the door in their faces after they've driven her half an hour home - they may well be hugely apologetic and embarrassed that they got the time mixed up.

you should have gone yourself
if you had proper flu you'd be in bed not on the pc

No, but they just made a mistake! It's only half an hour difference! The children aren't 4, they're 11 Hmm

Ohhhh, silly me. I ask for a favour and that makes it ok.

Maybe IABU but I expect the children to be collected on time!!

YABU - she's not there alone (with her friend). The parents are on their way. She's 11.

Not the end of the world. Be grateful for the lift.

I'm amazed that you made a note that the phone call was at nine forty three.

sure, shut the door in their face, I will await the next AIBU topic title being 'AIBU to think my dd's friend's mother is an ignorant, ungrateful person'

They are doing you a favour and they made a mistake - g e t a g r i p !!

YABU - there will be plenty of adults around keeping an eye on them until they are picked up. They are doing you a big favour and have made a small mistake. If you expect perfection in all things - best you do them yourself.

The only one who has any right to be pissed off is anyone who has to stay with them until they are picked up - but even then, mistakes happen.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Not worth getting your knickers in a twist about it.

Next time (if they do you a favour again) make sure to remind them of the pick up time.

Perhaps you should have gone yourself instead of sitting on your arse staying home ill. Nice attitude.

If you are so exacting why did you not go yourself? You can't be that knocked, you're posting on here.

So go yourself then or clarify times when arranging lifts.

Too ill to drive but not too ill to mn Hmm

We live a few doors away. They were taking their DD, so I am not putting anyone out.

The woman flu was tongue in cheek because I am feeling poorly but trying to carry on as much as possible!

I feel U for caring about my DD and her friends now.

I'm sure they will be safe, there will still be adults around clearing up the mess! Don't worry they will be home before you know it!

THere's caring and then there's being way OTT. What are you worried about? Presumably they're together and at school still. What is it that makes this such a heinous situation that it would warrant you shutting the door in their faces???
