yes, I know he was a pop 'star'. And he's dead clever. But then the same applies to Brian May, and he's not all over the BBC like norovirus

[meh]

Catrinm Mon 06-Dec-10 17:37:03

I love him, YADBU

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:38:51

right, I shall put you down as a "no" then

any more?

BalloonSlayer Mon 06-Dec-10 17:42:54

Was he a pop star? What in? < rushes to google>

To myself I call him Brian Botox as his face seems to be stuck in that smile.

Catrinm Mon 06-Dec-10 17:43:32

Yes. I also love Ben Goldacre . Why you no likey?

bibbitybobbitysantahat Mon 06-Dec-10 17:44:10

Can't stick him myself. He makes me cringe. So that'll be a Yes from me.

BalloonSlayer Mon 06-Dec-10 17:44:21

Have googled. Oh I SEE. < shrug >

thell Mon 06-Dec-10 17:44:23

I'm a 'no' too - he's just like my husband's best friend, so we always grin when we see him...from his doctorate in Physics to his fulsome lips!!

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:45:33

BBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIBBBBBBBB!

how the hell are you?

where've you been?

<bounces about in annoying inppropriate tiggerish manner>

GrimmaTheNome Mon 06-Dec-10 17:46:11

I prefer him on the radio as then you can't see his age-inappropriate T shirts.

So which scientist would you like to see all over the BBC? (popstar status optional)

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:46:44

Catrinm- it just seems as though every time I turn on the radio- 4 or 6- there he is

twirlymum Mon 06-Dec-10 17:49:55

How dare you criticise PROFESSOR Brian Cox!!!!!!!!!

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:50:12

Grimma oh I don't know. I haven't really thought it through. Just some different ones, I suppose

....or even none? just lots of cartoons and pop music and that

<skips>

Meglet Mon 06-Dec-10 17:51:27

If Brian May was presenting we wouldn't be able to see the solar system as his hair would get in the way.

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:51:52

oh gosh sorry!

I genuinely didn't realise he was a Prof. Now I feel quite bad

of course I meant PROFESSOR Brian Fucking Cox wink

Chil1234 Mon 06-Dec-10 17:53:17

I've only heard him on the radio. Apparently he's (shock, horror) a good-looking scientist but that's rather lost through that medium

PaisleyLeaf Mon 06-Dec-10 17:55:43

I liked his RTS lecture that was on TV the other night.
I Sky plussed it - might even watch it twice.

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:56:36

I think they should use real scientists/historians and other experts on telly, not cute ones- ie man ones with egg on their ties, women ones peering through their specs, and all absent minded and a bit spitty...

scallopsrgreat Mon 06-Dec-10 17:56:55

I thought you meant this Brian Cox and wondered what on earth you were on about! Showing my age there!

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:57:28

...oh fuck. I probably mean Patrick Moore, don't I

grin

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 17:58:28

oh I thought it was that Brian Cox for some time, scallops- got a bit confused for a few months back there....

giveitago Mon 06-Dec-10 18:00:10

Lovely mouth.

bruhaha Mon 06-Dec-10 18:03:29

He gets on my last nerve! His constant smile grates - no one can be that happy all the time. Dh likes him and finds him interesting - probably cos he's a physicist too!

GrimmaTheNome Mon 06-Dec-10 18:05:37

My DH watched The Wonders of The Solar System this weekend - HD boxed set. He claims he finds Cox irritating and only watches for the science.

SpringHeeledJack Mon 06-Dec-10 18:07:10

maybe tis a rictus grin thing like Tony Blair and he can't help it

mind you I would probably be quite happy myself if I was on the telly and radio all the time, I was dead brainy and everyone (well, nearly) thought I was fit
