Is under emense pressure ATM?

The forecast and predictions seem to be changing every few hours, people are getting angry at the lack of schools open, infrastructure failing etc and I've heard more than once today ' well the MET office said....', and 'now there saying....' as if they are doing it on purpose to make peoples lives a misery.

Incidently:
It is -7°c here, not bad for a 6°c forecast (that was 3 hours ago!) Xmas Grin. The snow is about 5" still.

No, I am a special needs support teacher Grin

We have had constant and changing emails about the weather. Up until 3 hours ago it was going to be 6°c + over the weekend and a big thaw, now its -7° atm and looks like the travel conditions will worsen with more sleet/snow tonight. I have heard many who have had their kids home for 2 days slating the met office as 'it seemed it would be gone by Monday, and now it seems they may still be off, wish I knew' Confused.

Oh, well it is quite dificult. TBH I actually find the routine of knowing I am working easier than this not knowing until 7.30am if I need to leave the house at 8am. Especially as in these temperatures it takes 10 mins to get DS and me wrapped up warm and another 5 to de-ice the car.

We were on a be aware warning, which changed to a no warning. 2 hours later it was severe warning and 1 hour after that snow!!

Same the last 2 days changing from advisory, to nada to 'watch the ice!, severe conditions, do not go out unless necessary!!'

It even said it would be 6°c at 9pm when it was -7° at 8.15pm!!!

I think it makes even a supermarket trip that will take 2-3 hours difficultas you set out thinking it will be fine and leave to 3/4" of snow!!

Poor Met office is under pressure though as with the hurricane of '87 people will say you* didn't warn us. Hmm
