AIBU?

To be pissed off at tractor on road?

Driving the kids to school this morning and I was at a T-junction waiting to turn onto the main road (30mph zone) when all of a sudden this JCB tractor appears doing well over 30, I'd say about 45? It was a blind junction but I spotted him and stopped before turning onto the road, so he shot past me.

Now I don't know about you, but if I was in a car crash, I certainly wouldn't want a tractor that size side-swiping me, and at such a speed! Further to this, he had the bucket lowered so if he was to hit a car, the bucket would just go clean through the windscreen with pretty disastrous results. Isn't there a law saying tractors on roads should have their buckets lifted? Further down that road is the kids' school as well, something tells me he won't have slowed down there either!

Hm, sounds pretty trivial now but it really pissed me off at the time. Maybe because it was early morning and everything in the morning pisses me off. Very dangerous though Angry

It was probably in the process of being nicked.

Well it was kinda centre of town area and the chap driving it did look like a pukka farmer (tweed jacket, weather-beaten face, patchy trousers....) and he was about 50.

YANBU - sounds very bloody dangerous and not to mention stupid of the farmer. Just glad no one was hurt.

I though you were going to say that you had driven along behind a tractor doing 5mph for 45 mins or something like that which allllllways happens to me. I it always makes me incandescent with rage a little bit cross, even though I know IABU!
