while walking my kids to school there is a bit of pavement where cars have parked on the pavement, so there is only space for 2 people to walk side by side, for about 15 car lengths. this morning cause of the snow i was holding ds2's hand, he is only just 3, so needed to support!
a bloke behind me was huffing and puffing and trying to get me to move, but while i was on this particular part of pavement, i was not going to let go of ds2, the pavement was far to slippery and if he fell he would have prob hit the wall on one side or a car.
as soon as we got passed the cars, i stopped, so the guy could go infront.
he shouted, cant you tell some people are in a hurry, so of us have a job to go to. we cant faff about like you. bloody people with kids, think you own the world.
i chose to ignore him.
he then walked on about 10 mtrs, and fell flat on his arse.
so, was i being unreasonable to walk past and say, well, that got you far didnt it? hope you have a good day at work. then smile and walk on, ahead of him, while he tried to get up?

Hooray! Evidence that Karma works sometimes!

Well done for not letting him faze you.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos Thu 02-Dec-10 09:14:52

I would have probably laughed at him but then offered him help up

curlymama Thu 02-Dec-10 09:16:14

Ooh, that was a bit mean. I always try to remember that you never know what's going on in people's lives when strangers are rude.

Still funny though grin

pjmama Thu 02-Dec-10 09:17:29

Serves him right.

OutOutLetItAllOut Thu 02-Dec-10 09:18:05

ah,
mean maybe, but if id helped him, id have had to let go of the kids. and there was no way i was putting him b4 them, esp as he was rude to be.

nevergoogle Thu 02-Dec-10 09:18:47

oh he deserved that. YANBU

TheCrackFox Thu 02-Dec-10 09:18:54

Arf!

northernrock Thu 02-Dec-10 09:19:41

Helped him up?? I would have laughed my ass off. How dare he speak to you like that in front of your kids? Serves him right.

PhishFoodAddiction Thu 02-Dec-10 09:19:58

This made me grin that's karma for you! YANBU.

strumpet82 Thu 02-Dec-10 09:23:42

YANBU - I just laughed too!!! grin

NormaSknockers Thu 02-Dec-10 11:33:52

grin I chuckled too, serves him right for being so rude. He could have asked politely if he could squeeze past as he was in rather a hurry!

mumbar Thu 02-Dec-10 11:35:51

Oh grin.

Probably envy on his behalf because his boss had made him go into work and he wanted to stay home. Not a reason to be rude tho - and yes, I'd have laughed.

BangingNoise Thu 02-Dec-10 11:36:12

WOuldn't it have been polite to let him pass if you knew he was trying to rush?
He was rude to you, though, so I guess it's karma.

togarama Thu 02-Dec-10 11:39:05

YANBU. Serves him right.

It was also ignorant of him to assume that just because someone has a child they don't have anything to do with the rest of their day! Some parents have to walk toddlers to nursery and then go to work too.

slimyak Thu 02-Dec-10 11:39:37

I love it when the universe rights minor wrongs so immediately. YANBU I think I might have been tempted to give him a cheesy wink as I passed him flailing on the floor.

lazarusb Thu 02-Dec-10 12:40:00

I would have been tempted to say 'I thought you were in a rush? But you have time for a lie-down...?' then laughed uncontrollably.
Well, I wouldn't, because I am too nice but I would definitely have thought it grin

ChippingIn Thu 02-Dec-10 12:47:23

Did you say it or think it?

I love a good thwack of Karma grin

OutOutLetItAllOut Thu 02-Dec-10 13:17:06

oh, i said it.
he was rude.
i dont like rude people.

ChippingIn Thu 02-Dec-10 17:36:16

grin

Well done you!

LoudRowdyDuck Thu 02-Dec-10 17:57:22

YANBU!

grin

ChaoticChristmasAngelCrackers Thu 02-Dec-10 19:11:07
