im in newcastle and weather is really bad, snow is about 7 inches deep probably more.
i have ds whos 8 and dd1 who is 3 both attend the local school which is bout 10 minutes down the road. the school was closed yesterday due to the weather but my dcs wernt very well anyway, so i was keeping them off anyway, the school reopened today but i kept them of today as ds was being violently sick through the night.
school is open tomorrow and i really dont want to take them... ds has mild cerbral palsy and slips and falls badly, even more so in this weather and needs quite a lot of support physicaly when its slippy, then i would have to walk dd1 and my dd2 who is only 2 and normally goes in her pushchair... even when my dds have wellies on the snow is up to their thighs....
i know for a fact not many children went into school today, so im not the only one who has kept their child off due to weather...aibu ?

no u r not,

i live in county durham and ds was supposed to go to a hospital appt today, it was cancelled but i kept him off school anyway. the weather is horrendous, i am not so much concerned about getting him there, its getting home at the end of the day when its getting dark, btw we have a twenty min walk to ds' school.

Should be kept off for 48 hours after last bout of sickness anyway - so think tomorrow is justified regardless of snow.

Well the thing is he needs to stay off tomorrow for the 48 hr rule if he was sick last night - so authorised illness playing in snow absence.

Well DS shouldn't be going anyway as you have to give him 48 hours from when he last threw up. Also probably should keep dds off to be sure they haven't got it too.
So there you go YANBU
