To think there is some misuse of the Pombear going on?

People seem to be dealing them out as though they were bicuits! They're not!

I thought they were to be used during those times when there was some extreme "Middle Class arsey-ness" going on..or am I wrong?

Can anyone actually tell me what they are for?

Or AIBU to be such a pedant?

christmasheave Mon 29-Nov-10 21:27:48

You mean they're not there just so I can make bear puns?

christmasheave Mon 29-Nov-10 21:28:19

<disappointed>

GetOrfMoiLand Mon 29-Nov-10 21:28:47

Fuck the pombear.

Tis the most ludicrous innovation on this site since that daft biscuit.

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:29:04

grin

christmasheave Mon 29-Nov-10 21:30:06

Fuck the pombear? Now that's a smiley I'd like to see!

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:30:13

Fuck the Pombear! grin

What a screwy thing to say!

GetOrfMoiLand Mon 29-Nov-10 21:32:16

I am bitter.

I have been asking MNHQ for a [twat] emoticon for years.

Two days after that pom bear thread that dozy bear appears.

<shuffles off muttering murderously to self, kicks the bear on the way out>

StealthPolarBear Mon 29-Nov-10 21:33:30

AFAIK it is to diffuse slightly awkward / stilted situations

usualsuspect Mon 29-Nov-10 21:35:21

I was hoping it was just temporary ..it annoys me when I see it [miserable cow]

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:36:32

Oh right...thansks SPB...well I still think people are doling them out as if they were jammy dodgers and it rankles!

GetOrf...I asked for an "arse" emoticon but never got one...I still want one now.
A little pink arse...it would speak volumes and its message could never be confused.

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:37:25

I thought they were for 'calm down dear, have a bear'

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:38:03

Yes Usual..tis' somewhat annoying somehow....but GetOrf....it is just a bear...a little one at that.

{Picks bear up and dusts it down}

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:38:03

Or possibly when something has completly derailed the conversation and everyone is sitting around in stunned silence 'bear anyone?'

ChaoticChristmasAngelCrackers Mon 29-Nov-10 21:38:23

bear

wink

grin

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:38:46

But it may just be that everyone on MN has used the biscuit so they can't say 'my very first biscuit' any more (I bet most of them are lying anyway when they say that)

GetOrfMoiLand Mon 29-Nov-10 21:38:54

ARSE emoticon. Fantastic idea.

Or a BUMHOLES emoticon. OOh - could use the biscuit for that, looks the same.

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:39:05

Actually I think people misuse the jammy dodgers.

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:39:15

So...are they for awkward moments? Or for a "Calm down dear" moment?

confused

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:39:48

My bumhole doesn't look like that!

<adds to spreadsheet that GetOrf has severe jaundice and has been eating a lot of beetroot>

GetOrfMoiLand Mon 29-Nov-10 21:39:56

Fuck all the emoticons.

The only one worth having is the smile (passive/aggressive) after a partcilarly biting comment (a la Bonsoir anna)

TrillianAdAstra Mon 29-Nov-10 21:40:23

Good old Anna. Not that she's called that any more.

ShanahansRevenge Mon 29-Nov-10 21:40:32

We could just pretend the biscuit is an arsehole GetOrf? That's much better than a biscuit!

GetOrfMoiLand Mon 29-Nov-10 21:40:59

<peers down pants>

<cricks neck>

MonkeySee Mon 29-Nov-10 21:41:14

Yes I have seen it used as the biscuit, when imo it was to introduce a moment of levity if things were going tits up.

And I agree

FUCK THE BEAR
