This stupid pissing weather is going to keep me at work SO FUCKING LONG before they are able to make any bloody decision as to wheter it is "Safe or Not" for us to continue to be here.

By the time they make a fucking decision the hill up too my house will be completely covered in snow and I wont be able to get home.

FUCK H.R. and FUCK their inability to make any kind of quick decision!

I am expected to walk the 4 to 5 miles to work in the snow and to work longer if others can't get in.

I know, thats the thing, since im on a temp. contract here and im jumping through every hoop to try and secure something permenant...even if I had to use sled dogs, i would still have to come in..

ENormaSnob - I think you must work with me! Last yr my manager expected me to walk to work too, 6miles!! and I was nearly 7months pregnant!!

I slipped a few times and remember being sat on a wall halfway down a steep hill crying as i didn't know what to do, carry on or head back. I ended up in hospital at 32wks, with a pulminary embolism - probably unrelated but i bet the stresses of getting to work all winter hadn't helped!!

I just can't believe how crap we are. Every year it snows for a few days, a couple of weeks max.

Each time its like we've never bloody seen it before. Schools close, roads grind to a halt and people all stay at home because they are snowed in!

Other countries must wet themselves when they get 10x the amount of snow we do yet life goes on for them. People still go to school, get to work and drive around in the snow.

I get bored of this argument. If it snowed 10x more here we'd all have winter tyres, snow chains, snow ploughs, enough salt to grit roads etc. Nobody's prepared to invest all that money for 2 days of snow a year.

Totally agree with you, Quenelle! And the biggest complainers about this are the ones who look at you like when you ask them if they have snow tyres, snow shovel or some grit in the back of the car. Well if YOU don't why do you expect everyone else to be prepared for something that hardly ever happens??!!!
