Am I being unreasonable to be furious with my sons' guitar teacher who told them that Santa is not real?

Depends. If he's 16, then YABU...

Sorry. No - I'd be cross too. Am presuming DS is quite young.

If they're 5 - no
If they're 15 - yes

How old? Actually doesn't matter. He is wrong, Father Christmas is real. Wrong and rude.

OMG! YRNBU I'd be furious

Well if your son is 15 that seems fair enough

Can't possibly give an opinion on that post - All depends on DS's age context reason....

How old? Assuming due to anger they are primary age, although some 11/12yo believe, so even then I would not be impressed.

They are 10 and 8

is he, then?

Definitely wouldn't be happy. I think I would have to have a word with the teacher too.

How/why did it even come up?

hocuspontas · 25/11/2010 20:45

Maybe he was referring to the ones that hang around town centres? The real one is busy making all the toys - these ones are his helpers.

I would be fucked off. let him know and make him tell them he was joking.

YABU I'm afraid.
Do you really think your 10yr old had no clue at all???

Report
LoopyLoops · 25/11/2010 20:46

You don't honestly think they hadn't already worked that out?

Report
Hulababy · 25/11/2010 20:48

I know of plenty of 8y who wholeheartedly believe. Not that unusual. Sadly I think my 8y has figured it out properly this year - although seems happy to go along with it, think she is hedging her bets, just in case.

tripletrouble · 25/11/2010 20:49

yes they probably had but she had no business talking to them about it!

YANBU.

He should keep his beliefs about god and father Christmas to himself.

Report
curlymama · 25/11/2010 21:35

Father Christmas is real, and the teacher is wrong. Tell your dc's that she is probably jealous because she was a naughty child that never got any presents.

WhyHavePets · 25/11/2010 21:40

YANBU, the age is unimportant, she isa guitar teacher, she does not get to decide what your dc do or do not believe about anything except guitars!

It does not matter if it is FC, sex or the reality of heaven and hell. THe jb is to teach guitar anything else is out of order really.
