Cancelling a play date?

Dd friend was due to come around after school for a couple of hours. This was re-arranged from Monday, when her mum cancelled and asked if I would have friend on we'd or thurs. Today was out, so said Thursday. However, found out late last night that dh is working from home tomorrow. He runs own business, and is often out at clients, but tomorrow needs to work here. And he really needs to work, not a work from home in a gentle, easy fashion. So I texted the friends mum today to cancel, but have heard absolutely nothing back. Aibu? We already have our three dc in house, so more would just make noise level unbearable. Should I phone and grovel? Have I broken an unwritten rule?!

Her mum cancelled as it wasn't good for her and now you need to do the same - it happens.

I would ring and try to rearrange for another day.

Fair enough sending a text as if shes working etc she has more warning but will be available now to talk and simpler to rearrange on phone as can discuss a time siutable for both.

Her mum cancelled on Monday so I dont think its unreasonable that you need to too. Life throws up these things, and work is more important than play dates so dont feel bad. Rearrange to suit you both.{I've just had three of ds's friends for three hours today, have a splitting head to prove it grin

I did text cause knew she was at work, so will give her a ring later. Ta for replies. Maybe I am just over thinking stuff. I do that sometimes.

Me too!!! I am a natural worrier even when I've only done what someone else has done smile
