AIBU?

that the use of phrase "baby daddy" is driving me absolutely insane.

Im on another parenting site too and am part of an ante natal group as Im currently pregnant.

One woman continuously uses the term baby daddy when referring to her other half. This woman is apparantly turning 30 soon.

It is actually annoying me so much that I cant actually post on the thread anymore (is that ridiculous?) if it was here, I'd tell her to get a grip but the site is much more censored and frilly and I would probably be banned for life. I think it would be worth it though.

I really, really, really want to shout at her.

Er - that's weird. Seriously. Is that the only reason she's with her DP?

No, it's not riduculous. She'll become a helicopter parent. Bet you.

So no, YADNBU.

YANBU - think the term stinks, suggests the father is pretty much a sperm donor rather than someone she's actually in a relationship with/has much respect for.

hmm well, i am guessing she doesn't mean it that way but isn't the generally accepted meaning of that a guy that you just used for a child?

so... you could act all innocent and say "so.. is your DP really a babydaddy?" and see what she says

No, they appear to be in a relationship which makes it stranger really now that I think of it.

Bleurgh, YANBU. Fucking vile term. Bet she thinks it makes her look quite trendy and cool, rather than tragic. Baby daddy...[shudder]

I use the term DS's dad when talking about... well DS' dad, but I'm getting divorced and I don't feel like saying my ex, particularly to people that do no needed to know that DS and I, live in a single parent household.

No chandra, I think ds' dad is perfectly acceptable, I often say the same on here, even if she said "my baby's dad or (uuuh) daddy (at a push)" its the singular "baby daddy" rubbish
