The only reliable testing is to pay for skin prick testing by an allergy consultant. The rest is just hocum I'm afraid.

Allergy UK has a help line who will advise you on a local consultant. DS didn't have a skin prick test he had a RAST blood test, but you are right to be skeptical about kinesiology and any of the health shop tests.

Phone your nearest Bupa/Spire hospital and ask who does allergy stuff.

DS had his allergy tests done by the paed consultant who does clinics at the Gatwick Park Bupa, and I would thoroughly recommend him.

There are some people with good reputations in London if you don't mind travelling a bit. George du Toit, Adam Fox, Gideon Lack. I think they all work privately out of the Portland. Andy Clark has a good reputation but is in Cambridge (spire) so a bit further for you.

Kinesiology is a load of old tits. Blood tests or skin prick testing are reasonably reliable. As CMOT says, you need to see an allergy consultant. I would press your GP for a referral (DS1 got referred for eczema and the consultant did blood testing which revealed a severe egg allergy).

I agree with noodlesoup - take a trip up to London and see one of the people ns recommends as they are the dog's bollocks of the allergy world .....!
