can i put tea tree oil in ds bath ?

ds has a bit of eczema,....
don't want to use baby bath product until i go to gp...
I've got tea tree oil...
can i put few drops in his bath tonight....?

Tea tree oil can be a tricky one... if a child has sensitive skin, then it is advised not to use it for soaking nappies in, so I would guess a child with eczema in the bath would be the same.

Many children are fine with it, but it since it is a bit of a reactor oil anyway, I'm not sure I'd risk it.

Oilatum bath oil is great (I remember it as a child).

Hi,
Tea tree oil can be drying on the skin and with a dry skin condition like eczema it might not be ideal, may be ok to put a drop in the bath if only to boost the immune system. I would probably recommend lavender, used it with my son when he started with eczema and it worked a treat.
I'm actually a qualified aromatherapist although it's a long time since I practised properly!
