Allergies and intolerances

Anyone had an allergic reaction to Mouthwash?

Probably a long shot as I've never heard of it but have had a horrible sensation when eating yesterday and pain in my mouth today. All I can think of is that its a reaction to Mouthwash I started using on Tuesday. It was a own brand and I usually use Listerine, but not often. Its better now but wondered if anyone else had had similar?

Never heard of it but I have had hideous mouth ulcers from strong toothpaste, they can be sore corrosive to your mouth lining.

What were you eating at the time? Could you be slightly intolerant? Was it fruit that could have had pesticides on?

Another thought, could you be anaemic? When I was anaemic (now dd has it at 12 years) I could not eat yogurt (weird) or anything with salt or vinegar without my mouth being really sore.

Or, as you say it is the mouthwash. Sorry, not much help am i?

I've ruled out anything else. This one was for sensitive mouths. It makes you so miserable when your mouth aches, my teeth were hurting too.

Yes. My friend was telling me he had something similar and it took weeks to clear up.

Euw, sounds like it was full of a load of horrid chemicals, poor you. Perhaps take some nurofen to bring down any swelling and take it easy on any reactive foods for a few days.

Anyone else out there have this same experience with mouthwash? Sounds nasty!

My 3 year old ds has horrible tongue ulcers at the moment which he has had for about five days now.

He's off his food because it hurts to eat and I can only clean his teeth with water because toothpaste stings.

He's been walking around sucking his lips together in a beak all this time and barely even talking. It's tragic.

I wish I hadn't googled Lichen Planus on the advice of my friend.

Spidermama - DD2 had this. Doc said it was bad luck and from the herpes family (euw) nothing she had done. She had tabs for a week and it was fine, got much better after only 24 hours of tabs.

I took anti-histamine, followed by anadin extra and rinsed with salt water. Back to normal now just a nasty taste with coffee etc. Tipped the stuff down the loo.

Thanks Blue. I will take him back if it hasn't cleared up.
