Allergies and intolerances

Anyone participating in the LEAP study?

Hi, I've enrolled my son onto the LEAP study at the Evelina Children's Hospital and wondered if anyone else was participating in it? This is a research study investigating childhood allergies, especially peanut allergy. My son isn't allergic to peanuts but he is allergic to egg, sensitised to cow's milk and has exzema. Apparently this puts him at greater risk of developing an allergy to peanuts.

Hi, I've enrolled in this too. My 7 month old is allergic to cow's milk and eggs and is sensitised to peanuts. He went into the consumption group on Friday last week and is now having peanut products 3 times a week. They really monitored him and I thought were very good. He had no reaction but his eczema looks abit worse to me this week. I might have seen you on Friday as we were there from 9.30am till 2.30pm!!

Just found a leaflet for it - and it really frightened me. 1 in 5 children with eczema get a peanut allergy? I didn't know that, dd (5months) has mild eczema but is breastfed so i'm not sure what she is sensitive to.
