dd1 has now reacted to the sun cream we have successfully used for the last two weeks.

so what is left tp try?

have tried all the standard brands over the years.

one year i got a fantastic moose sun screen, cant remember what it is called now though.

Have you tried the E45 stuff?

I have got a list which the Eczema Society sent me of all the various brands and which are less likely to cause reactions -- can email if you like or I'm sure you can get it directly from them...

Have you tried the doctors. When my youngest was smaller we always had suncream on prescription because we didnt know what he would react to.

Ds2 has always been able to tolerate Banana Boat (the Baby version) but absolutely nothing else.

will try roc, once her skin has calmed down.

i second the greenpeople unscented one. Might be worth a try, ds has very sensitive skin and eyes and it works a treat.

ruty Tue 29-Jul-08 18:54:26

not the lavender one giraffe linked to, they also do an unscented one.

oops am going a bit mad on the green people trial size stuff blush

misdee Tue 29-Jul-08 19:01:05

wastthestory, the other dd's are fine with them, as am i, so am using them up. waste not want not wink

suiledonn Tue 29-Jul-08 19:01:48

We used the La Roche Posay last year on dd and it didn't affect her eczema. We bought a new bottle this year but in a type of aerosol can (it was the only one in stock) and she reacted badly to it.

misdee Tue 29-Jul-08 19:40:44

thanks for the list (again)

am trying green people first as its affordable atm. if that doesnt work then will try roc, as have heard good things about it, last time i tried to get it on perscription Gp just told me to keep dd1 out of the sun.

then will try that other one (sorry bad memory already)

the problem with dd1 is that soemthing that works one week can provoke a nasty reaction the next week. there is a long list of stuff she cant use for her eczema. we have exhausted most creams now, so no idea what will happen once she starts reacting to aveeno. [scared]

bran Tue 29-Jul-08 19:47:40

The mousse stuff is probably Bergaderm, it used to be called Proderm.

Last year we used Aveeno sunscreen for ds, but this year he has had a dreadful ezcema reaction to it. So we are using Sunsense roll-on with no problems so far.

brimfull Tue 29-Jul-08 19:48:49

bergaderm is the only one ds can use

used to be sold in waitrose but I can't find ot on the highstreet now

misdee Tue 29-Jul-08 19:51:09

that was it, proderm!

TheSweetLittleBunny Tue 29-Jul-08 19:57:28

Lavera do a very good one and we also used E45 - you need the sun reflective suncream, which is available (free) on prescription.

I did a thread like yours just two months ago as DS has reacted to all conventional suncreams.

SO far his has not reacted to the E45 or Lavera.

TheSweetLittleBunny Tue 29-Jul-08 19:58:20

Oh and the one by Green People was good too. We tried that last year.

misdee Tue 29-Jul-08 20:04:48

have ordered the non-scented and scented one in trial size, plus some baby balm has have heard good things about that, and need it for frogmella.

am trying to find out whats actually in the e45 one, just in case its ok. do you have an ingrediants list at all? cant find anything on the website about it.
