Biscuits that are dairy, egg & lactose free

Are there any that are easily available from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons or Holland & Barratt. We have a boy coming to our workshop who is dairy and egg allergic and lactose intolerant.

I don't want him to feel left out at break time when we provide biscuits.

cheaper the biscuit more chance of being allergy free farmfoods do loads asda smartprice are often milk free as are tesco value

Some margarine contains dairy products

Try the "Tru Free" range. They're available in Tescos.

There's a range of marg called Pura I think which is dairy free.

Tesco Free From Chocolate Chip Cookies are free from milk wheat & gluten and doesn't seem to have egg in the ingredients list (looking on tesco.com )

yes, Pure is dairy free. the soya one is manky though, so go for the sunflower one.

vitalite is as well, but not many places seem to stock that these days

Aren't you nice -

• M&S Rich Tea and Digestives (not McVities, strangely) - sorry I know that's not a shop you have listed but they are nice and cheap

• Organix range Gingerbread Men or Alphabet biccies (available from Tesco)

• Fig Rolls (not everyone likes them though...)and they do say made on a line handling egg and milk so you may not want to risk although we do.

• Pink wafer biscuits

• Fox's Party Rings (bit junky - but nice!)

Magarine always contains milk product in my experience. The only spread we can use is Pure non-dairy spread widely available.

I would avoid the Free From ranges - more expensive and there is actually a fair bit of choice from "normal" range stuff.

There is always of course rice cakes - but some children are sick of them! The apple ones are nice.

Not sure about egg contents but asda smart price chocolate bourbons are??!!!! and fruit shorties, I know are milk/lactose free, don't forget to check for whey powder too if checking ingrediants!! Good for you for trying to provide! Nice to keep everyone included!

Chocolate biscuits use cocoa which is dairy free. Hence the dairy free bourbons

I think some of the Tesco's value biscuits were dairy free now I think of it. The fruit shortcake ones IIRC. Not sure about egg though.

if you are looking for dairy free dont forget to avoid things with 'whey', 'dried skimmed milk' or casein in them all dairy based.

I've got a few to go on there. I usually buy Asda Smart Price bourbons anyway, PArty Rings are great but I think I'd eat them all.

The reson I asked about marg is that some of the free from ranges listed marg as an ingredient and I got a bit confused. eh shortbread biscuits were labelled as free from milk but I wasn't sure whether that was also lactose free: Soya Flour, Margarine, Sugar, Modified Maize Starch, Glucose, Cellulose, Stabiliser (Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose), Xanthan Gum

Margarine contains: Vegetable Oil, Salt, Colour (Annatto, Curcumin), Emulsifier (Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acids), Flavouring

My next search is aspartame free orange squash that kids will actually drink (mine turn up their noses at Rocks and Capri suns /Tropicana Go are too expensive I make jugs full. I reckon it might end up being Vimto (this is for my own son and he can tolerate the sweetener in Vimto for some reason!

yes, that list has no lactose in it.
I have found that most of the free from things that are labelled dairy free are lactose free,

all sainsburys squashes are aspartame free. even the no sugar ones

Just to clarify, my list below is totally lactose free. Something will not be labelled dairy free if it contains lactose (Lactose being the allergen in milk/dairy).

What does catch some people out for my child, is that something maked Dairy Free OFTEN contains egg as it is clearly not dairy. That is the case in a lot of Free From cakes etc.

Something marked "Vegan" is good as it has no animal products and thus no milk or egg.

For a drink I would get Adsa's own brand fresh fruit juice eg. apple and mix it was water to go farther. That way, no colouring etc etc.

My 10 mo is dairy, egg and soya intolerant. So I am constantly on the hunt for biscuits I can eat. Mostly Aldi bourbons are fine but after the floods weren't until the shortage was over. Ginger nuts also fine more often than not and Nice biscuits. Most "Free From" dairy seems to contain egg where it wouldn't normally which is a pain.

Just to clarify milk contains lactose but if you're allergic to milk it is the protein you'll be allergic to. Either way if you are looking for dairy-free then it will not contain lactose. My daughter has the same allergies (plus nut which adds another level!)and the only biscuits we can safely buy are :-

Tesco own brand bourbons
gingernuts, McVities and own brand
Doves' farm digestives
Lotus caramalized biscuits are great because you can get them all over Europe!

as mentioned before you will not find any suitable biscuits in the free-from aisle if you want egg and dairy-free.....

I can't remember whether you can get MiWadi in the UK, but they have brought out a squash that is sweetened with Stevia and sucralose.
