What has happened in the last couple of days to make my hayfever flare up?

ds' eyes also suffering more than usual. yesterday I bought eye drops which he's never had before.

I think the grass season is just beginning, before now it was tree pollen. I've found as I've got older I don't react to tree pollen so much but do with grass.

Have a look at a Lloyds Allergy Reliever, helped a lot last year with mine.

apparently we are getting as double whammy this year because of the late spring.....it brings us the spring grass stuff now along with the summer tree stuff at the same time.

I am really suffering too and I feel as tho I am fighting tonsilitis all the time too!

Thank god it's not just me with the throat too-I thought I'd got normal hayfever and flu on top-went to bed for 2 hours yesterday afternoon (god bless preschool!) and went to bed properly at 8 I was feeling so rough!

Well in that case I recommend looking at my little machine even more, I am completely fine (wonder if this will be famous last words) and I've had horrible hayfever since I was 2 and was practically sobbing over my GP when I was pregnant and not taking medication, I was in such a state.

This is my machine, you stick it up your nose for a few minutes two or three times a day (great entertainment for the rest of the family as your nose does glow a bright red). It is a cheaper of Medinose. There was a thread on Moneysavingexpert.com about them which made me to decide to try one and I am really pleased I did.

I don't think it will Katisha. It's something to do with suppressing the histamine released into the body so I don't think that would help for sinusitis, sorry But I guess you could ask in Lloyds as I could be wrong.

I started taking my hayfever tablets in February (I get Loratadine on prescription) and I was smigly thinking I had escaped hayfever this year. Until a couple of days ago. My eyes have turned into dry, itchy masses and it is really uncomfortable. I've been smothering them with Diprobase cream and vaseline alternately.

It does Beety. Don't think unfortunately it works for everyone but helping me a lot.

DD uses it in conjunction with anti-histamines, which on their own left her with horrendous symptoms. So far so good for her this year but will be interesting to see what happens the next two weeks. Will pick her up in a minute and probably find her in a right state having said all this !

Oh im in the same boat, the last 3 days have been very bad. To the point that my head feels like its going to explode when i blow my nose. Normally i suffer from April to June but this year is later and its only just started!

ds2 (4) just started getting what looks like hayfever yesterday. Initially I thought it was a cold so left his window open all night for fresh air and that obviously made things worse.

I read that Medinose (the Lloyds one is a cheaper rip off) is but I think it would be best to check with your GP just in case.

i was hoping to have missed the dreaded hayfever this year, but these last few days have been torture!!
I saw the GP today and they have advised againt anti-histamine tablets as I am 5 months pregnant.
They packed me off with a beconase and some eye drops!Both or which are available over the counter but if get a prescription obviously its free!!
Am now not quite as bad as I was!
Hope this helps fellow sufferes at this miserable time of year!!

yes, it is very miserable. i don't have much of a problem with it but dh, ds1 and ds2 have terrible trouble

ds2 is the worst, he has antihistamines , eye drops, nasal spray and inhalers and still he's a wreck.

tonight i have been going from bedroom to bedroom, both ds have itching swollen eyes (cold cloths on them ) and ds1 has headache too.

wouldn't be surprised if they are having to be off school tomorrow. it's the same nightmare every year.

the medicines just don't work.
