dd going mad iching 10 1/2 m what will they give her

we been to dematoligy clinc last week have now given her epadern, shes had loads of creams, but now this is sending her mad, i have rang gp going at 5 15 will they give her any thing to help? its so upseting

HAVE YOU TRIED PUTTING HALF A TUB OR A BIT LESS OF BICARBONATE OF SODA IN HER BATH.... WORKS ON MY DD ...... sory about capital letters xx

My ds was on steroid creams at that age,quite a bit earlier as well.
Only think that helped the itching.

Aww no, sorry. I would ask to be referred back to the dermatologists if she is still bad. They can teach you techniques like bandaging which keeps the cream on and is really helpful. We found epaderm much better than diprobase, which made my DDs skin worse.

You might find applying the epaderm more often helps her. We were told that some children need it put on every hour even, just whenever you feel her skin starting to dry out.

we are in a no win situation really can control most of it on her body, but under her nappie area is raw( not nappie rash) been comfirmed, we leave of most of day unlil we need to go out(which is a lot shes got to many app with hospital) have tried real nappies made worse, diffrent dispoables now trying the boi ones with no chloirine or plastic in !but when shes no nappie on it gets worse as shes just layes most of time, (shes delayed) so she rubs her bum on carpet or floor boards to scratch{sad] and makes it bleed and crack

Are you seeing the dermatologists again? Have you tried Dermol?

Oh I really feel for you, it is absolutely terrible watching them itch and hurt themselves scratching.
Reactions to epaderm meant to be really unusual as there are so few ingredients, unlike some of the creams.
I think you need to press to get back to dermatology clinic. We had a cream for eczema in nappy area - Timodine - which is hydrocortisone plus antifungal which cleared our 6m boy's up quite quickly (he had severe infected eczema over most of body).
Also it may be you need a stronger steroid just to get the eczema under control - everyone hates steroids and I tried to avoid it for so long but I can see now that the strong dose was needed for my boy.
Epaderm or other moisturiser is important but if there is active eczema on the skin these may not solve the problem - the eczema needs treating itself. For us they applied a potent steroid cream, Elocon, in the hospital and gave us some to take home - this can only be used 5 days in a row but does work like magic. Then once it is under control we used less strong creams - eg Eumovate /Hydrocortisone to treat small flare ups.

heliotrope yes thats how we heen, tried the nystaform and 0.5% hydro together, did make it little better was toild only use for 11days and no more, but after 4 days was back, now hes givin us daktacort with 1%hydro in it but can only use for 7 days i just dont want it comming back now once it works, she is a lot better with last nights and this morning lkot on .

i was shocked she had a reaction to epaderm as we used for 4 days ok, then swelled right up
