got a letter today from the registrar who saw DD2 last with the results of ther latest blood tests. Her TTg was low but within normal so they tested Iga. which has also come back low. The letter thinks coeliac is a 'theoretical possibility'.
they've referred her on to a paediatric gastro bod at Bristol Childrens hospital.
In some ways i'm thinking Ha! Told you so! but in other ways i'm a bit sad that she might be facing a lifetime of wierd diet. and of course she may yet be not coeliac at all.
anyone know what the next step will be? do you think they'll want to do further investigations (like an endoscopy/biopsy)?
or am i again being neurotic paranoid mother?

They will want to do more, but coeliac symptoms can be caused by other things. I am a coeliac and when DS had severe stomach cramps, diaorrhea etc we had him tested. Despite negative blood tests he had a biopsy (privately) which was negative. The gastroenterologist then suggested giardia and a short course of antibiotics. That sorted it out!

So the gastro may want to do a biopsy, but may also have other ideas about the cause. A biopsy is no problem for kids - they just sleep through it. But parents have a much harder time worrying about it.
