Hi everyone,I just thought I would ask for some help here.
I have Fibromyalgia (I think the gp says it probly is) and I also think I am allergic to certain foods,it has been like this for a while now and i am getting sick and fed up of it,I have been to dietician and she was no help and only advised me to eat 3 meals a day which I can't because I am scared of eating something that will set me off.
I will try to explain,
When i eat anything with milk in I get really bad gripping stomach pains bit like contractions and I have the runs, then there are the things that I eat that don't give me runs but make my breathing go faster very scarey and my face goes bright red and feels like it is on fire!!v v embaressing if I eat something while we are out anywhere!
My stomach is bloated as well it won't go down I am naturally a big person anyway but when it bloats up it is sore, uncomfortable and I look about 8 mths pregnant! My tum is very sore to touch, when I stand at the kitchen sink doing washing up it really
hurts now this might just be my fibro because you get sore tender spots with that.
I am sick and fed up of going back to the Gp and they not really giving me any good advice,so before i tear my hair out please please does anyone have any advice on what to do? and if cutting dairy and wheat out of diet what do I eat that is easy and quick to prepare I am fed up of carrot sticks! Oh and to make it more difficult I cant eat fruit it makes me ill only can have bananas,I have been eating jacket potatoes with salad but after eating the potato my tum felt heavy and I felt horrid!!Oh..and I also have Polycystic overy syndrome (appologise for the rubbish spelling.......lol) I heard you should have a special diet if you have PCOS but I have not been adviced by Gp to do that so any suggestions please let me know. thanks!!

Notnuftime - that all sounds horrendous, poor you. The best suggestion I can make with respect to cutting out all wheat and dairy is to get hold of Carol Vorderman's detox books, in particular this one, which is full of recipes that don't contain wheat or dairy. You'll have to be prepared to try some foods you may not usually eat / drink, but I can vouch for how much better it will make you feel. I have a wheat intolerance (makes my tummy bloat up and feel sore & windy) and I know how awkward it is when you go out as there is wheat in everything. I also now drink very little milk, I have rice milk on my cereal for example - hate the taste of cow's milk now! You just need to get used to what you can and can't eat, be prepared to be a bit flexible.

Might also be worth checking out the Coeliac Society's website as this has ideas for gluten (and therefore wheat) free recipes.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Thanks Notnuf! In terms of cereal I usually stick with something oat-based like porridge, or one of those crunchy oat granola ones. I can also tolerate Oatibix although I'm not that keen as it reminds me of baby food! The other cereal I'm currently having is Millet rice oatbran flakes - tastes a bit bland on its own so I usually mix in a bit of oat granola to make it more exciting. The other breakfast I like if I remember the night before is to soak some porridge oats in apple juice overnight, then in the morning mix in some grated apple or banana and honey and maybe some soya yogurt (the Alpro ones are really nice btw).

If you go to the 'free from' aisle in Sainsburys or Tescos there is usually a good selection of wheat free cereals. Also, if you do manage to get the Carol Vorderman book she has some breakfast ideas in there too (like home-made granola which is delicious).

You could ask your GP for a referral to a consultant gastroenterologist and/or a dietician (also for your daughter). This is a specialist area and it sounds like you have reahced the limit of your GP's competence.
