It just makes me so upset he hasn't had anything new and they were both whist eating one at breakfast and one at dinner.

They both included facial swelling so were quite scary.

When I had to test DS to find out what was causing his reactions I did a grid - all the ingredients of meals across the top and then put ticks underneath and noted any reaction. It was obvious very quickly what the culprits were. They do become sensitive to extra foods sometimes unfortunately - or it could be that one of your trusted brands was contaminated. What foods is he avoiding?

Egg, fish and nuts.

He had toast for breakfast and chicken supreme and rice for dinner so really can't think what caused it

Did he have butter on the toast because he could be reacting to the milk in the butter and the chicken supreme sauce.

Try writing down all the individual ingredients (i.e. copy the ingredient list from the packet down to the smallest detail, it could even be a flavouring or what it is carried on that is the problem) in each of the meals over the last few days and look to see what there is in common. If you can't identify the common element yourself you need to speak to a doctor as soon as possible.

Ended up with a trip to a&e as it just wasn't clearing and his lips were huge
They gave him a steriod injection and told us to give piriton every four hours for a few days.

We have an appointment at hosp on wednesday anyway so i'll see what consultant has to say.

Thanks

Sorry you had to go to A&E - but great you have an appointment on Wednesday. It's amazing what can set these reactions off - DS reacted to the tiny amount of barley in the flavouring of Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes when his allergy to gluten began so we have to avoid all malt flavourings, or any flavouring carried on wheat, and it's surprising where it can be hidden! Hope Wednesday produces some answers.
