hi, snap have problems with my 11 month old. He been poorly from 12 weeks, took to 9 months to be diagnosed lactose intolerent, week later dairy intolerent now 2 months on Egg and Soya! Not much fun, although he has always been very happy little lad (apart from after eating or drinking) Grown really well and piled weight on. Now booked into specialist for further tests. Im still not convinced all foods make him poorly (tummy ache all night, ezcema, wheezing, aways cold on temp and rashes) I honestly think its Egg and milk (yogurt, milk custard etc) have never seen reaction to dairy cheeses but have soya. Hope you get sorted soon as I feel 11 mths of baby in pain is ridiculous! After all we wouldn't stand for it would we?

are you replying to a thread or asking a questoin? and did you know that eggs ARE dairy so if he has a dairy allergy he would be allergic to eggs as well as cheese, yoghurts and milk

we wasnt sure about the egg until he was prescribed some medication for seperate reason which contained egg! I know what your saying about dairy but he doesn't appear to have any problems with cheese or butter, just milk mainly which makes me wonder whether he really has got intolorences or its just milk and custards with milk in it, could just be the heavy feeling on tummy? guess thats what we'll find out soon.

Its not at all true that a child who is allergic to milk will be allergic to other dairy products or egg. Some children are allergic to uncooked milk but are fine with yoghurt and/or cheese. Also a cows milk allergy and an egg allergy are totally different things.

hi yeah realise the differences but struggling to understand why he is bad after cow & gate comfort and after soya milk. i cant believe intolorent to both. is it possible that it is just milk regardles of soya or cows! doctors seem to think im mad but i wouldn't entertain giving him cheese etc if i thought was make him bad.

I do not understand why your doctor's think you are going mad. Cows milk allergies are common, as are soya allergies. And as I said before it is common to have problems with milk but manage yoghurt etc. See if you can get referred to a paediatric dietrician - they will sort you out. Good luck.

hi yeah got referral in 3 weeks, little one not had any milk since wed and to be honest he is perfect even at night! they said he needs something but not prepared to give him milk that makes him poorly. I asked if i give him milk and he then has tummy ache all night can they give me something to help. They said no not up to them, have to see what hospital say. Therefore im not putting him through it anymore until he has second opinion.
