allergist in australia?

We have been in Oz for a month now, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. My son was RAST tested when he was 18mths (6mths ago) and we found out he has allergy to sesame, egg and peanut. We were advised by allergist to get him tested again in a couple of years. Wondering how to go about this. I have read there are only 2 allergists in Queensland - we dont mind going private (as long as its not a fortune was about 300GBP in UK) does anyone know how I contact the allergists? Dont need to get him tested for another 18mths but dont want it to come and have to wait another year to see anyone? Trying to find this info out without a GP as we are not covered by Medicare for first couple of years here. Any help would be apprciated.

Hi. Not got any experience with this but speaking as someone has lived in New Zealand (and is going back on Saturday!!!!) have you tried going to the doctors and getting a referal? I assume you've got residency?

Get some private medical insurance and get a referal from a GP. Don't know about Allergists in QLD, but the specialists in Sydney are at least as good as you will find anywhere else in the world.
If you get private insurance now then the time period where you can't claim will have expired by the time your son needs to be tested again.
