Introducing tree nuts after peanut allergy

My 2 year old had an appointment at the allergy clinic yesterday for skin prick tests. She had a reaction to peanut butter when she was 7 months old, and we were told then to avoid all nuts for a year and then have her tested (this only just happened due to waiting lists!).

The skin prick tests showed a reaction to peanut, but not to cashew, almond, walnut, brazil nut, hazelnut or pecan nut. We've been told we should now introduce these nuts into her diet by taking them one at a time and giving her a tiny amount every day for a month, then keeping them in her diet a couple of times a month after that. We obviously should continue avoiding peanuts. She wasn't given an epi pen.

Does this all sound reasonable? I feel so nervous about giving her nuts after avoiding all this time and the day she had the reaction was the most frightening of my life. Has anyone else followed similar introduction advice and found it fine?

Peanuts despite their name are from the legumme family whilst the others are true nuts. Yes it sounds reasonable to s-l-o-w-l-y introduce tiny amounts of true nuts one nut variety at a time.
Epi-pens tend to be reserved for kids with IgE allergies that trigger an anaphylactic response.
