Baby with CMPI - introducing milk

Hi there,

I have a year old dd who is considered to have non-ige CMPI and soy intolerance. Her symptoms were significant weight loss after initial gain, frothy,
Mucus stools with very small amounts of blood, general unsettled behaviour.

Anyway, the consultant recommended challenging with dairy so I sought the advice of the dietician.

She is not a fan of the milk ladder for various reasons so has suggested using lactose free milk in very small quantities in her bottle. So one oz a day for a week, increasing to 2oz. After a month start introducing standard cows milk.

I suppose I am looking for anyone else who has followed this method as I haven’t come across anyone.

We are into week two now and I think things are going well. Her stools seem normal but she has developed a nappy rash. Her sleep seems a little more unsettled but she does seem to have teeth coming in so both of those could be that.

Would the symptoms be very obvious? How long do you think I should keep going before we can be confident that she has grown out of it?

Sorry - that was long and rambly

How is she doing now @Passmethecrisps? Have you continued with the lactose free milk? Did the Dietician say why she wasn’t a fan of the milk ladder?
