6 spots appeared on my ds' arm today??

Not sure if I'm overeacting as he is my PFB but today my ds woke up with 3 small red spots on his arm. Thought it was probably nothing. But I have just noticed 3 more appear? and also one near his willy, they dont look really red or sore and he is not bothered by them and is not scratching.
Any idea what this could be?

do they look like little blisters?

chicken pox maybe? Check under his arms and behind his ears.

They arent like blisters just like little spots. None behind ear or back. He has a small one on his leg and another on his other arm? getting slightly worried now as he gets christened in 2 wks time.
Thing is we havent been in contact with anyone other than my family over the past few days? Went to a playgroup but that was over a week ago?
I have changed the confitioner I'm using could it be that? Surely he would have more of a rash all over if that was the prob?
Confused!

Could still be chicken pox, I was totally unconvinced that DD's were chicken pox until they blistered, that being about three days after the first one appeared. Incubation period is 10-20 days so could easily be playgroup - or contact even longer ago than that.

Not all chicken pox are big blistery spots. My brother had more of a rash all over.

Doesn't seem like an allergic rash, would say Chicken pox too.

Sounds like chicken pox. Incubation period is 10-14 days. He is infection for 2 days before sports appear till spots crust over, approximately 5-7 days. He will be fine by his christening, although may have the odd scab left.

There is a chance that you will catch it, but there's nothing you can do to stop it now. If it is Chicken Pox, he has been infectious for a week already. There is no medication for it. Just give him either Calpol of whatever you use if he's unwell and try putting bicarbonate of soda in his bath, it will help to ease the itches.

btw, keep an eye on it. It still might NOT be chicken pox! I'd take him to the docs on Monday, if you're still not sure by then. Might be worth mentioning to the receptionist on the phone first though, they may want you to come after everyone else has gone home!!

Too late for you I am afraid. He is already contagious and already has been for last couple of days. Sorry. Hopefully you won't get them. Only need to get yourself checked out if you are pregnant.

No need for DS to go to doctors unless they get infected or he has other complications. Piriton is excellent for the itching, and helping with sleep. IME calamine just makes the itching worse.

Hopefully he will get away with not being too bad with them. DD wasn't ill at all and TBH wasn't even that itchy - the piriton stopped itching completely for her.
