Butternut Squash

Has anyone had reaction to butternut squash?
I’ve just started weaning and DC seems to her very red rough skin around his mouth after eating butternut squash. I though butternut squash was unlikely to cause a reaction..... no hives or anything just the red skin on the face

My son has no known allergies but he does have sensitive skin and around his mouth would get red when he was little from the juice of the food. Aubergines were one of the things that did it, and pineapples were another. (I'd kind of expect pineapple juice to be acidic and irritating though.) Could it be that?

I’d see how he goes on tonight. If it’s a reaction, you’re
Iikely to get get wind and mucus in the poo.

Ok he’s fairly windy anyway. Fingers crossed for sensitive skin then!
It did seems a bit unusual given it is recommended as a first food for weaning...
Thanks

I have contact dermatitis from butternut squash- absolutely no other food allergies or intolerances & I'm completely fine eating it Confused might be worth looking at...?

It does seem like a weird one to cause an irritation. Is it rich in vitamin C or A? (Sorry I can't remember.) Because both C and A (retinol) are used for aging skin topically but both come with warnings as they can cause irritation.

Well there you go, calamari has a sensitivity to it so it's possible.
