Hi all, my lb turned one last week, and was having two bottles a day, morning and bedtime. 3 days ago he dropped the morning bottle, just flat out refused it, and each day we have tried with no success. The past two days he has also refused his bedtime bottle, yesterday dinner was an hour later than usual so we put it down to that. Usual time for dinner tonight and still refusing. He was having around 14oz in milk feeds and then has 3oz in his breakfast. So now only 3oz a day. He has koko yogurts maybe 1 every two days just because they are so expensive but now I am really worried, is it normal for them to no have any milk feeds at this age? I'm also worried about where he will get his calcium from? He eats 3 good meals a day so I guess he is having enough food, but I thought the bedtime feed continues a lot longer than 1year?! Please help any advice would be so appreciated! X

OP I've just seen this - my DS has just turned one and also has CMPI. He was breastfed so I'm not in exactly the same position, but he basically self-weaned just before his first birthday. He has Oatly which is fortified with calcium for breakfast and usually with a mid-morning snack. My understanding is that they don't need milk after one, as long as they have a varied diet - our GP and Consultant both basically said not to worry and he would be getting enough calcium from Oatly and other foods. You could always give a multivitamin as well if your worried? Either way, I wouldn't be trying to force him to have a bottle or making it stressful as you're potentially setting yourself up for food issues later on.

Think it's important to replace the fat and protein as well as the calcium. Fish with bones is an excellent source of all three. Try tinned sardines on toast or fish cakes made from tinned salmon Smile
