I don't why I did not think to ask on here sooner but we have a doc appointment at 10 today.

Baby developed what we thought was secondary lactose intolerance after tummy bug although perhaps there were earlier signs. We removed lactose for 7 1/2 weeks. First week we have tiny amounts in food eg Scottish pancakes and it was fine but second week we tried to introduce regular formula with the ratio 1:7 scoops she could not tolerate it.

We have a GP appointment today. What do I need to ask or should I expect to happen?

Sorry you didn't get a reply. How did your appointment go?

The GP was old school. He googled lactose intolerance and told me some stuff I already knew and then told me I needed to see the HV. HV said to go back to see another doctor who referred us to a dietitian.

Babies are very very rarely lactose intolerant because breast milk has lactose. If they have issues with dairy then it is far more likely to be cows milk protein allergy (cmpa) in which case cutting out lactose won't do anything as it he protein in the milk causing the problem and the protein is still in lactose free products. To test whether they have cmpa then you'll need to cut all dairy (and probably soya too as the proteins are similar), including hidden dairy (in biscuits etc) for at least 6 weeks and then 'challenge' the allergy by drinking a big glass of milk and seeing if they've had a reaction

Thanks. The issue did not start until 7 1/2 months after s & d. Temporary lactose intolerance is common after s and d and all symptoms disappeared after removal of lactose and reappeared 8 weeks later when we tried to gradually reintroduce the symptoms returned. I am sure it lactose related.
