Eczema Herpeticum - experiences?

My dd (11 yrs) was diagnosed as a dermatology emergency with this 10 days ago - a serious skin infection, when atopic eczema becomes infected with the herpes virus. Like if someone has an eczema flare up that's become infected & comes into contact with someone else who has a cold sore or is carrying the herpes virus - you don't necessarily need to have a cold sore to be carrying the virus. I've never heard of eczema herpeticum before in my life. It's a nasty nasty infection & is quite dangerous if not treated quickly.

She's completed all her medication now. Her lesions/blisters are still very much present all over her body. I can see new spots appearing. I took her back to Drs today, who told me it will take some time, up to several weeks for the blisters to heal. Luckily my dd wasn't ill with this, she's actually felt OK in herself.

The patch of eczema that kickstarted it all is still very much there, very raised, has been treated with steroid cream.

We're using diprobase as emollient - tonight she used aveeno bath oil & this evening I got some dermo 500 lotion, after reading lots & lots about different emollients, creams & lotions - I figured dermo 500 seemed like a good one to try for my dd.

She's never really suffered from eczema before this. It's usually my son that gets it but he's clear!

So has anyone else had this before? Or what emollients do you find help best for eczema, I know what suits some may not suit others.
