Too early for hay fever?

After renting a very old house (with old carpets etc) I realised that once we moved into our new build house that DD (2.5 yrs) is very sensitive to dust. Her runny nose completely disappeared once we moved from the old house and I've been meticulously cleaning in order to avoid even the slightest bit of dust anywhere!
Her nose has been clear for a year until she had a cold a few weeks ago. It's now runny all the time.
My mum suggested it could be hay fever, but is it a bit early for that? I'm worried there's a chance she's reacting to the slightest bit of dust and thinking of ripping my lovely new carpets up!!

it is tree pollen season, so yes this may be cause of 'hay fever'.

antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops may help, go to GP!

good luck.

Tree pollen is out and also, have you moved next to a road?

Tree pollen is the likely culprit of this hayfever. Pharmacist should be able to help. DS is much better now he can have one a day tablets.

My dd's hay fever has kicked in again over the past couple of weeks. She's back on her antihistamines

There's trees and shrubs in flower, even up here on the north east coast, where everything is a lot later than elsewhere, so it's definitely not too early for hayfever.

Thanks everyone. We do live quite near a road yes, we've been here a year now and she's been fine since. That's why I'm gutted that she's reacting to something after doing well for so long. I just had a thought, There's building work getting done next to us too. Lots of digging up land and it's right next to her nursery too. I wonder if that would have an impact?

It's more than likely the tree pollen, my eyes are kicking off as we speak and it is chucking it down outside.

About two weeks ago, I noticed a twinge of what I had originally - about three years ago at the same time of year - thought was toothache from an upper back tooth. (My dentist checked everything backaways and said there was no tooth problem but suggested that it might be sinus issues from an allergic reaction, probably to tree pollen. Apparently, the nerves are co-located behind the cheekbones-ish.)

Straight on to one a days, anyway, but the control is only limited. Two or three times a day, I have about 20 minutes of this 'toothache' - from round about now for a number of months. This morning, I have a blocked feeling in my nose and watery eyes as well as the pain.

It's a PITA because I'm not good with pain. About all I can do as far as I know is take the one a days, stay inside as much as possible and hope for rain. And look forward to Autumn!
