My 10 week old DS started coming out in hives only on his face and head last week. Not knowing it was an allergy to something I took him to a walk in centre and they basically told me to work it out for myself.

I realised nothing had changed (soap powder etc) which was frustrating and then I noticed a bunch of flowers I was given for my birthday which was the only thing that made sense. I threw the flowers away and his rash eased off and even when it did flare up it was nowhere near as much.

However today it's flared up again so I'm doubting that it's the flowers and I'm completely at a loss.

The rash flares up quickly and then disappears within an hour. I thought he may have developed an allergy to our dog, I'm wondering if it sounds like that? It's never happened before and I'm unsure why it was disappear so quickly if it was our dog??

If anyone has any advice or experience with anything like this I would love to know!

TIA

I have also attached pictures of his rash.

Frills, are you breastfeeding? it could be something you are eating. Try starting a food diary.

This happened to my DS when he was about this age. I was told it would be impossible to know what was causing it. My only advice would be to be very careful when you are weaning - introduce possible allergens one at time in small quantities. My DS turned out to have multiple food allergies but he grew out of most them by the time he was 5.
