DS is suspected CMPI ( well pretty certain after nasty reaction to 1st ever cows milk).

So I've cut out dairy and soy (as I suspect it's soy as well).

Anyway tonight I think I ate some bread with milk in and peanut butter (I know not good !) and fedDS about 1 1/2 hours later.

DS now scratching, eczema flared up and wheezing.

Surely he can't be reacting to it so soon and over ONE piece of bread! Or could it be the peanuts? Or just a coincidence? Or me being paranoid?

Help!!!!

Yes, it is possible - can take only about 2 hours for proteins from food to pass into your breastmilk.

Any major wheezing or breathing difficulties, please call A&E.

Don't feel bad - this is a learning curve. Some babies don't react to food their bf mums eat (although mine did).

If your DS's symptoms get no worse, you can still keep on breastfeeding... I know it feels weird and horrible when you know youve eaten something dodgy but although it will take a while for the proteins to clear from your milk completely, you should see some improvement soon.

Thanks green, as I suspected. Arse!

He has inhalers so gave him some and he was ok.

I have to be so careful what I eat.
