Help- dairy free diet made eczema worse!

Hi- our 2 year old has eczema and the dermatologist recommended trying a dairy free diet for two weeks. We've done it for 3 days so far and her skin is suddenly so much worse?! What to do- carry on or stop?

Has she been eating lots of something else to replace the dairy that might have triggered flare? Or been outside lots or used suncream?

Seems unlikely that dairy free diet would cause flare. DS's eczema often made worse in warm weather so maybe it is that?

yeah, suspect soya as both intol seem to go together at times.

We experienced worsening and also didn't see a huge improvement until we had identified all food triggers.

It might be worth trying an elimination diet and then reintroducing gradually. No wheat, no dairy, no eggs, no soy, no sugar, no nuts, no seeds, no deadly nightshades (potato, tomato, peppers, aubergines), no grains except rice. After three weeks, if you see an improvement, reintroduce one by one leaving wheat and dairy till last.

Rice, fish, vegetables and fruit. Sounds tough but could be a short cut to the right answer in the end.

Another one whose DS had a worse reaction to soya than dairy. I hope you get it sorted soon.
