My DS will start primary school in September. He is allergic to wheat and nuts and carries a Jext pen. I will have a discussion with them about whether they will be able to cater lunch for him but if not my next thought was to provide similar food to what they are serving in a flask like the Aladdin Bento Box. Does anyone else do this and have there been any objections to taking in hot food and asking the school to serve it up with the other children eating hot meals? I would prefer him not to have cold packed lunches every day

If you sent in hot food, would you want them to look after it and serve it or for him to just open it up at the table in the same way children with packed lunches do?

I think they might prefer for your DS to open it and eat it just as the other kids with packed lunches do....if you make it warm, then it will stay warm rather than hot and it would be safe.

I think children in DDs school have things like pasta and soup in those flask type things...I can't see why they wouldn't allow it.
