Allergies and intolerances

In general, does fish shop fish have cmp in it?

My favourite place in Dartmouth doesn't but we live 300miles away from it so the local will have to do.

Allergies aren't really known about here and I get sick of being looked at like I'm a mental dieter or faddy eater when I ask.

So, whaddya reckon?

Cows Milk Products eg lactose, whey, milk solids etc.

They look at me like I'm weird around here if I ask about allergens.

I'm in deepest derbyshire.

I had a slice of cheese cake last week, I had a bit and waited for 20 minutes. No reaction so I ate the rest.

I haven't had cheesecake in 8 years.

Most (cheap) fish and chip shops we have tried round here are fine - the batter comes dry in a packet that looks a bit like a bag of flour, and they make it up with water. They mostly seem to use the same brand, which doesn't contain any cmp, egg, lentil flour or mustard (although I think it does have soya in it).

However, if you have managed to eat a whole slice of cheesecake, perhaps you don't need to worry too much about traces of cmp Grin

Im guessing if you ate cheesecake you'd be ok with fish and chips.

If you didnt react to cheesecake, why are you worried about the contents of fish and chips?

You have no idea how much I want fish and chips now! Lol

All the fish and chip shops we've ever been to have been fine for my dairy allergic DS. I'd just go in and ask.
